A bit more spontaneous traveller. Still so many continents to conquer.
Generally speaking I tend to hate museums, but the War Museum here was pretty entertaining. Not like an ACDC concert but OK! 19 days, 17 hours ago

Festival summer! The top happenings to attend if you happen to like good music combined with great atmosphere.
Hmm... no idea to have this group but let's see what we'll here. See you soon! http://www.reboot.dk/

It's so true, nothing can disturb you. The inhabitation mostly consists of idyllic summer cottages by the water. It's so quiet one elderly man living there once said: "It bloody happens nothing here ever. I wish there was even just one little forest fire!" 26 days ago

And let's not think that as a tip :D

If you want to have your own space on the beach, skip this Island on weekends. It's packed! 56 days, 21 hours ago

Wrong! :) The BEST way to get around is a scooter or a trail bike. The island is not really that big and the bus is not worth waiting for an hour or more. So far the road to West Point is not coated and only a 4wd or a dirt bike is allowed to enter. I'd highly recommend both the road and the West Point!

Maggie is a big and quite quiet island. There are the few bays that are inhabited and good roads to drive on. It was very easy to find distant beach bays with no one else around. We hiked to such a beach and at first it seemed like a paradise, sorts of. Unfortunately I got a bit bored to laying on the beach or snorkeling in the bay as there was a very little to see in the water compared to the reef areas...
The best way to get around Maggie is by your own car or by the local bus.

I believe Linnunlaulu Cafe has the best view of all the places in Helsinki where you can get coffee or ice cream. You'll see the Töölö Bay, the sunset, the city further away... But only in the summertime - it's closed most of the year. :/ 94 days, 9 hours ago

It's just an aquarium. Not even that big you would've expected or serving those rare animals you wouldn't find in other aquariums around the world. A bit disappointing, I must say. The shows save a little and kids seem to like it. If you have ever been in ANY aquarium, skip this one. 94 days, 23 hours ago

Is it a koala or a coconut...? Maggie Island is next in line. :P Gotta pass Whitsunday this time. Some hours on Whitehaven beach doesn't sound like worth extra $300 plus 10 hours in a bus.

Great to hear skipping the aquarium was the right thing to do! :-) Instead of the aquarium, I went to see Magnetic Island. If you go there, remember to be careful (re photo)...

Take the goat track! The climb is quite steep but a person with regular condition will make it all the way up in an hour. Best time to climb a bit before sun sets (it's not too hot and you get nice photos when sun is going down). Then you can thumble and fall down the track in the dark and break your neck. :) 95 days, 3 hours ago

Costs you about $30 per adult. The 30 minutes ride can be ordered with drinks and service too. I thought it was worth it. You just have to decide if youll take it day- or nighttime. The city lights are on their best when the sun is setting. 104 days, 17 hours ago

I'm voting for bigger photos. Or at least for a possibility that you can see a bigger version which would for example fill this box-width! <-->

Kupittaa Adventure Park is a great place to go when you travel with kids. In Summer there are concerts and other events for kids, but you can visit there any time of the year. And it's absolutely free!

This year 2008 can be the last year we are celebrating Ruisrock on the Awesome Island of Ruissalo. Some environmental activists have been complaining about the noise and stuff for years now, but this particular year they have bigger weapons than ever. So do we - Apocalyptica, HIM and Nightwish! 197 days, 22 hours ago

Nice small place but the local people tend to be quite annoying always "helping" you to do some very basic stuff (for money of course). If you're going, bring the kids a football, they'll love it! 286 days, 21 hours ago

Forget Bibione, Lignano and even Venice! Grado is a small city that has it all. Very convenient town with waterways, boats, numerous large beaches (with have way less sunworshippers than those in Bibione). Or, if you are driving by to Trieste or Venice, just stop in Grado for a gelato. Just be prepared that you want to stay here. 286 days, 21 hours ago

Probably the best city in the whole Europe. Colorful, not too big, not mentally "dry" as the old historical cities. It's a modern Venice! Use the boats for sightseeing AND transportation. one year, 25 days ago

If you have kids, take them to Linnanmäki! The Sea Life is amusing for the whole family and the rides are really not that bad. one year, 102 days ago

There are lots of big malls around the town. In centre you can find about anything from Forum or Kamppi. There's also couple of smaller ones downtown - Kämp and Kluuvi. one year, 102 days ago

It's like the Rialto Bridge in Venice. Old, ironish and romantic. It doesn't even cost the half penny to walk over nowadays. one year, 134 days ago

Although it's an hour away from the town it's very recommendable place to stay. Affordable, cosy rooms, green surroundings and a very lively hotel bar! one year, 134 days ago

Quite small for a castle. Guided tours are ok, but if you have seen bigger castles anywhere doesn't impress so much. Sand sculptures on the front yard (during summer) are worth seeing and they're free! one year, 134 days ago

A really small field. Don't count on buying souveniers from the airport. There are no shops! one year, 153 days ago

It's a sun worshipping hell! The 8 km beach has nearly 100.000 umbrellas and as many tourists under them during the daytime. You have to walk pretty far to get rid of the people and find a peaceful place. Or even better, rent a vehicle and flee to Grado. Way more classier town! You won't get far with English in Bibione. Feels a bit degrading, but high school German proved to be the right way of communicating. one year, 155 days ago

Strasbourg is an OK town considering that it's in France. The "internationality" glows nicely and the look & feel is that you are more in nature than in a big city. Eating crepés below a big church, having cider! I'd recommend it even if you hate France. one year, 172 days ago

A small village with lots of scandinavian visitors. Get the most out of the "city" by renting a bicycle. After you have seen all (takes about two days), rent a motorcycle and cruise around! If that begins to feel boring and dry, go for a boat trip! one year, 193 days ago

Absolutely one of the top summer cities in Finland. Get there with a boat, if possible! The best weekend is in the end of July when the big regatta-party is taking place. one year, 195 days ago
