In Muurla you can find a stylish shop where you can buy Muurla Design glasses. They are selling all kinds of glass products. They are all designed by famous Finnish designers like Ristomatti Ratia and Jukka Rintala. We usually make a quick stop here when driving to Helsinki from Turku.
There is also a restaurant in the builduing, but I have never eaten there, so can't tell more about that.

Luotsikatu is the longest strip of Jugend (German for Art Nouveau) style houses in the world. Among its architects are world renowned Eliel Saarinen, Herman Gesellius and Armas Lindgren, who together designed Luotsikatu 1 (Tallberg house) and 5 (Eol), and Selim A. Lindqvist, who designed Luotsikatu 2 (Aeolus).

"The first museum in the world that concentrates specifically on graphic design", they claim. No idea, is that true, but it is definitely worth visiting. Tells the story of graphic design in general, illustrated through great examples of Dutch graphic design. 152 days, 5 hours ago

This is really a must-go shopping place in Porvoo. All the stuff is hand made Finnish design. Every time I go to Porvoo, I just have to visit here.
Some of the products are a bit expensive, but everything is worth its' price. I allways try to save money and buy only the little things and Ooops! Again I spent 50 euros :D You just can't leave there with out buying something. The more I think of it, the more I want to go there again!

Private club for media types, AD people, Internet dude/dudettes, artists and alike. Requires invite, membership or - like in our case - just walking in. Cool bars (club in 1st fl) and restaurant in the 2nd. Recommended if you're working in the business - good place for networking, meal and a coctail. 92 days, 21 hours ago

Tapiola once was the garden city and was acclaimed also abroad for its urban design. Nowadays the place is a bit depressing and deteriorating, although it is still quite garden-like. Having lived there for 5 years I really don't find it very interesting to visit. :) Unless you're a big culture fan the only thing to do here really is to go to Silkkiniitty and play some football (that's soccer for you americans ;). 81 days, 22 hours ago

Come 'on. You're way too negative. Tapiola is extremely idyllic place to live with its garden city architecture. Although, for a tourist there is nothing special to see. It's all about spending a relaxed day near the shore and having a picnic or so. But hey, how often you find a suburb an interesting place to visit? Caesar never reached Tapiola so no Roman ruins there...
